The shape
- 0:00–0:10 — arrival, gear up, quiet tuning. No music yet.
- 0:10–0:25 — click-track pass of the trickiest song, no vocals.
- 0:25–1:10 — full run-throughs in set order. One pass, band notes after.
- 1:10–1:25 — targeted fixes. Only the two or three moments that actually need attention.
- 1:25–1:30 — gather, pastoral word, dismiss. Everyone leaves on purpose.
What this protects
Volunteers giving up an evening need a rehearsal with a shape. Diffuse rehearsals are the single fastest way to burn out a team that otherwise loves being there.
